WW2 Reenactor Uniform German Army Herr General Jac-102
|

GERMAN WW2 REENACTOR ARMY UNIFORM JACKET..HERR GENERAL SZ 102 K & BELT.. Large to XL.. in size, fit can vary by person.WHAT YOU GET: Vintage jacket & a black-leather officer's belt. Also, you get these items, not pictured: Iron Cross Seond Class; button ribbon & Russian Front Medal; button ribbon & Tank Assault Badge Bronze.. all quality reproductions. JACKET : Grey jacket, thick wool, from a German distributor, made in Sweden. Has a wool and cotton liner. The stamped size of the jacket.. is 102 K ..the date stamp..indicates it was made in 1941..and I believe it to be accurate. This jacket is a Swedish Army, M-39. It's fashioned to look like a German WW2 Army jacket, basically a M-32. I measured the chest to be 45"..neck is 18"...sleeves are 32.5", can be let out another 1.25". Back measures 31" and the front.. is 33". Had to be well made and well stored, to look this good after 66+ years. I have dozens of these.. in excellent condition but this one is just superb. Better than a reproduction, made in Asia last month, in the sense.. that it was made in Sweden..during WW2. So the old style, thick wool and cut to the jacket, definitely has a WW2 look and feel to it. This jacket is in unissued..excellent condition.. Also, it's not a relic that you can't wear, just display. Quite the contrary, wear this one, right it out of the box. The Swedish and German jackets are very similar, with the biggest difference being the lower side pockets. These are known as "slash pockets", where only the flap of the pocket, is visible. I recently discovered that the obsolete (during WW2) Reichswehr-Pattern tunic, had slash pockets and looks very similiar to this jacket. Some of these old Reichswehr jackets were worn during WW2. With the newer (during WW2) German M-36's & M-40's, the side pockets were fully visible, flap and all.The black collar, mostly wool, has be added, to make this item, look like a M-36, with a few added buttons also, for effect. My tailor, who makes men's suits, does these black collar conversions. The original collar is removed, then the black addition is cut and fit to the original and then the new collar, is machine sewn, back onto the jacket, using a special, rugged, stitch pattern. The dark collars make a huge difference, in the appearance, of these jackets, since most people are familiar with this look. In reality, there were more M-40's, in the German ranks, during WW2, which were grey throughout..collar and all. The collar insignia, is gold embroidered leaves..on red wool bases..The shoulder boards.. are braided bullion..gold & silver colored cords.. on red bases...matches the collar tabs.. The collar tabs & SB's (reproductions), are nicely made in India, by a company that specializes in custom embroidery. The collar insignia & SB's, are already sewn onto the jacket..wear it right out of the box. BREECHES: are not included.. in this auction but are available..for sale.. in my ebay store..I combine shipping..so you save $..if you get.. more than one item. If your size of breeches..is not in my store..email & I will put a set there..for you. BELT: 45-1100. (XL +) This black leather belt.. is 49" long and is actually a German Police belt. The waist range is 40.5" to 46.5". New, never used, fits this jacket well, made in Germany..can be customized. These belts are the same design, as the WW2 German officer & General's belts. ITEMS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION: 1870 Grand Cross @ the neck, IC button ribbon ..and 1914 IC First Class pin back..at the pocket..1939 Cordor badge & 1914 Wound badge..& shirt.. & holster.. they are props and are not for sale. I have P-38 holsters (R), for sale.. in my ebay store..which go well.. with this uniform. No swastikas on this uniform. Nice for reenactors or collectors. I've had only three out of 100 of this style, sent back to me and those were for a larger size. Check my feedback, for some recent comments on these uniform groups.Winning bidder to pay $12 shipping, outside USA international postage rates apply. These heavy wool uniform packages.. weigh a lot and generate above average shipping fees..sorry, there's nothing I can do about it and the post office, raised it's rates again..in May 2008. However..your costs are for postage only..there are no handling fees or charge.. for shipping materials. I'll get the best deal I can for you. Some reenactor groups, frown upon conversions, as opposed to buying reproduction uniforms, which is fine. The first step in having fun with this hobby, is knowing what you want and don't want. I bought some WW2 reproduction, German uniforms, from a manufacturer in Germany, only to find out the jackets & trousers, were made in China. Just call me "dummkopf..amerikaner..chump"...I didn't reorder. Don't get me wrong, I've seen beautiful uniforms made in Japan, China, asia, etc.. and some real cheap stuff, as well. I purchase many items.. from German vendors, couldn't be happier. Depends on who makes the uniforms. Back to WW2 Europe and the many foreign volunteer units, serving with the German Army and elite formations. These soldiers, were from the Ukraine, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Norway. (not a complete list) Some wore German uniforms, with their own unique insignia, some wore other than German uniforms, with German like insignia or their own unique insignia. Many were not allowed to wear regular German Army uniforms and corresponding insignia. Some were conscripted and forced to wear German Army uniforms, etc...etc.. So the point is.. that some soldiers of occupied nations, were sent to fight, in support of German forces, wearing uniforms made in their own country, but with German like insignia, yet not exactly the same thing, as it was forbidden to wear certain symbols, unless the soldier was a native German. What does all this mean ? It's not a great stretch of my imagination, to see these Swedish jackets, as part of real looking WW2...uniforms, that troops serving with the German Army, could wear. Let's note, that Sweden was neutral and did not support Germany during WW2 and their troops did not deploy, in support of the Wehrmacht. Since perception, is more powerful than reality, in a visual medium..(movies..TV..reenactors) the perception to me, is these wool jackets, look real enough, to pass for German... WW 2 jackets. Since these Swedish jackets, were made betwenn 1940-1955, many were... actually part of WW2 uniforms and they look and feel like it. SHIPPING: Ships to USA, Canada and Australia. No shipping to Germany , France, Austria and Italy. Satisfaction is guaranteed. Return within 7 days, in the same condition, if not completely satisfied, less shipping fee.UPDATE FOR 2008. The distributor in Germany, told me by phone, in July 2007, they are completely sold out of this style ...the M-39 ...WW2 jacket. So, these will be harder to find and use... unless I find another large distributor and I'm not certain any distributor... has these, in any quantity... anymore. What does all this mean ? Since the endless supply seems to be done now...those jackets out there with collectors... are worth more now. I have about four dozen left...when I run out...guess I'll sell ipods. Questions by email, are answered...additional photos upon request. Thanks for looking.....ATTENTION EBAY CENSORS, THERE ARE NO NAZI EMBLEMS..ON THIS UNIFORM JACKET..NOTHING IS BEING COVERED UP..OR CROPPED OUT. The neck cross..purchased on ebay..is a reproduction, of an 1870 Franco-Prussian War item.. the IC, at the pocket..purchased on ebay..is a WW1 reproduction item.. wound badge is WW1 vintage..Condor skull badge..from Spanish Civil War..both purchased on ebay.. these four items.. are on ebay..as auctions.. all the time and have no 3rd Reich emblems..This auction, does not violate your listing policies...thanks for reading this...2008 |
